Join other activists on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 10:30 am at the New York City Times Square Military Recruiting Station (Broadway and 42nd Street to plaster the recruiting station with bumper stickers that read “1 in 3 Women are Raped While in the Military” as a part of Veterans for Peace’s Military Rape Awareness Week (October 12-16, 2009).

10:30 am Meet at Times Square in front of the military recruiting station and handout materials (VFP will provide) to visitors to Times Square (bring posters, signs, etc)
11:00 Press Conference with VFP member retired US Army Colonel Ann Wright, Sandy Kelson, VFP national Military Rape Awareness Week campaign coordinator, Survivors of Military Rape and members of Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN) www.servicewomen.org
11:30 Non-violent, peaceful direct action of plastering the recruiting station windows with bumper stickers that read “1 in 3 Women Rape while in the Military”
12:00 Jail support for those who risk arrest by placing the bumper stickers on the windows
