Futenma Base Protest ~ November 8, 2009
Over 20,000 people took part in a rally in Ginowan City, Okinawa on Sunday to protest the continued presence of the Futenma Marine Corps Air Station. The protest was held in anticipation of the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama who will be visiting the region later this the week.

The U.S. Military has maintained an air base at Futenma since 1945. MCAS Futenma is home to approximately 4,000 soldiers.
